Early Life & Education

Born in Kadukottanahalli, Maddur Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka, currently residing in #73,BSK III Stage, BDA Layout , (Avalahalli) 8th main, 8th cross, Girirnagar, Bangalore - 560085. D. S. Veeraiah hails from a family rooted in service and resilience. Son of Shri Dollaiah Siddaiah, he pursued a path of education and public life shaped by ambition and dedication.

Academic credentials:

  • Master of Commerce (M.Com)

  • Bachelor of Law (LL.B.)

  • Diplomas in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, and Journalism

This multidisciplinary academic foundation equipped him with insights into economics, law, governance, social work and communication—skills that became the bedrock of his service.

Political Journey & Public Service

  • 1990s: Began political career with the Loka Shakti Party; served as State Secretary (1996–1998).

  • 1998: Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), rising to prominence as President of the SC Morcha four times (1991, 1994, 1998, 2016–2020).

  • 2000s: Served as BJP State Secretary, Convener of the Karnataka Assembly Election Manifesto Committee (2008), and BJP Spokesperson (2008–2016) He was a National Council Member & presently a special Invitee National SC Morcha.

  • Legislative Work: Elected to the Karnataka Legislative Council for two terms. His parliamentary interventions, speeches, and debates have been compiled into Vidhana Parishattinalli D. S. Veeraiah (2006–2018).

  • Developmental Roles: Chairman, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Development Corporation (2008–2009), focusing on social justice initiatives for marginalized communities.

  • Electoral Politics: He twice contested for the Lok Sabha from the Kolar (SC) reserved constituency, in 2004 and 2009, where he lost to K. H. Muniyappa despite securing 3,74,600 votes in 2004 and 3,75,000 votes in 2009, with narrow margins of 11,800 and 23,000 votes respectively—symbolizing his strong grassroots connection and active democratic engagement.
