D. S. Veeraiah was instrumental in founding hundreds of SC/ST Associations across banks and public sector units at both the national and state levels. He also served as the National President of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Parinirvana Prathisthana Samithi. Under his leadership, thousands of activists marched to Delhi in protest, a historic struggle that led to the declaration of 26, Alipur Road, New Delhi—the place where Dr. Ambedkar spent his final days—as the Ambedkar Museum (Maha Parinirvana Sthal).
