Literary Works

D. S. Veeraiah is a celebrated voice in Kannada literature, with a body of work that combines artistic sensibility with social commentary. His writings reflect the struggles, resilience, and aspirations of marginalized communities, as well as universal human emotions.
  • Short Stories: Kudala Swamy Mattu Ithara Kathegalu – acclaimed for its realism and selected for inclusion in BA curriculum (Gulbarga University). And also "Devaru Hettavaru' a small story from Kudalaswamy mattu itara Kathegalu for B.Com and B.Sc textbooks.

  • Poetry Collections: Geregalu and Berugalu. The poem Nireekshe was chosen for the 9th Standard English-medium Kannada textbook (Govt. of Karnataka).

  • Two books, namely Sahithya Mukhi and Samaja Mukhi, are collections of his writings and speeches compiled in a Bruhat Grantha publication

  • Upcoming Works: Novel Katheyadalu Seethe and additional poetry collections exploring themes of justice, hope, and social awakening.

Critical and Editorial Contributions

  • Authored Dalitha Chinthana, Ondagi Mundagi, and forthcoming Ambedkar Rashtreeya Chikithsaka.

  • Compiled Ambedkar Messages — a trilingual (Kannada, Hindi, English) anthology of Ambedkar’s speeches, making them accessible to diverse audiences. This book was released by Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankar , in V P Enclave , Delhi on 28.06.2025.

  • Editor-in-Chief of Kidi-Nudi magazine (since 2000), nurturing new voices and ideas in Kannada literature and public thought.

Education & Institution Building
Veeraiah’s greatest legacy in education lies in his institution-building vision:

  • Panchasheela Group of Institutions: Established PU College, Degree College, and Polytechnic, providing affordable education for students across social strata.

  • ACE INDIA: Over 30 years, guided aspirants for IAS, KAS, SSC, RRB, FDA, SDA exams. His mentorship particularly empowers rural youth, Dalit students, and first-generation learners, transforming potential into success stories.
